Electra Mining remains one of the largest exhibitions in mining, industrial, machine tools and electrical products in Southern Africa. This year’s exhibition held at the Expo Centre in Nasrec from the 15th to the 19th of September again proved the importance and relevance of this trade show and provided Voltex with the opportunity to introduce some of the newest brands to its group and showcase its impressive portfolio of quality-certified products and innovative energy efficient solutions.
Attracting a significant number in excess of 40,000 visitors attending the exhibition, Voltex proved why it is the recognized Power House in the electrical and electrical related products industry. The impressive 18 metre stand provided an optical presentation of the extent of Voltex’s product range and the official Electra Mining floor plan booklet was found to be a big hit which was sponsored exclusively by Voltex.
Shawn Roets, Marketing Committee Chairman for the Voltex group, one of the exhibitors said, “There was resounding interest in energy efficient and power optimizing products, which highlights more than ever, the critical need for achieving energy efficiency and growing sustainable energy savings”. Voltex was well positioned to provide solutions in these technologies by showcasing the impressive Elspec Activar power optimizing systems and Invirotel's Energy Management Systems which, Roets stated “is not only efficient, but 'smart' too, and covers metering as well as vending options.”
“Many of the attendees also stopped to ask about MV/LV Solutions because of its unique ability to manufacture products to the specific needs of customers.” said Roets. MV/LV Solutions, which is now part of the Proudly Bidvest Voltex Group, is a fully SABS approved company. Also of particular interest was the LSis Resin Core Transformers from Voltex LSis, who holds the sole agency of LS Industrial Systems in Southern Africa.
Besides the electrical solutions, of which Voltex has an abundance, visitors also had the opportunity to see the creative, innovative side of the electrical industry through Voltex Smart Solutions products as well as a variety of energy efficient LED lighting products and the latest range of Hubbell Occupancy sensors.
There was also huge demand for the six brand new short form Voltex catalogues launched at the show. These catalogues were available FREE to all visitors. These six short form catalogues are still available on order via the Voltex website. In addition, the interactive social media competition run by Voltex during the course of the show got visitors talking and flocking to the stand in search of the solutions to the anagrams and puzzles as can be seen in these photos below. By taking the competition onto the social media platform those that were unable to attend Electra Mining 2014 could also participate in the competition which was very well received.
The Voltex stand was also visited by Brian Joffe (CEO), Peter Meijer (CFO) and Mpumi Madisa (Executive Director) of Bidvest. Voltex is a proudly Bidvest company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bidvest Group Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). Voltex forms part of Bidvest Electrical and has a level 2 BBBEE rating.
The Voltex Group, including the staff at the exhibition, said that Electra Mining 2014 was a huge success, and proved the value of participating in the show. Voltex plans to return to Electra Mining 2016, with even more energy-efficient products and innovations in the electrical field.
