ASSISTANT DRIVER – ALRODE

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Assistant Driver for the Atlas Cables branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to assist the designated driver to ensure the timely service of transporting goods, and to ensure customer satisfaction.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods by hand, this includes handling the bin-raising device on the rear of the truck
• Help the driver navigate each destination on schedule
• Fill logs and reports of each delivery for an accurate record of what has been completed
• Update records or changes to the delivery routes
• Obtain clients’ and customers’ signatures as an acknowledgment of having received the delivered goods
• Effectively communicate with clients and customers to resolve complaints
• Report all delivery related problems to Operations Manager
• Ensure that the delivery vehicle is clean at all times
• Adhere to production schedules
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations

The key educational requirements and qualifications for this position would be:

• Matric / Equivalent is a MUST
• Proven experience working in warehousing, manufacturing or production
• Knowledge of warehouse processes
• Knowledge of relative safety standards protective clothing
