DEPOT MANAGER – BRACKENFELL

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Depot Manager for their Brackenfell branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Regional Manager.

The purpose of this role is to lead, plan, organise and control the daily operations of the branch and warehouse.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Liaise with major buyers/suppliers/manufacturers
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible price
  • Source new customer accounts

The key qualifications and experience for this position would be:

  • A valid Grade 12 certificate is ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum of 5 years branch management experience is ESSENTIAL
  • Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office
  • Practical experience on Netstock / K8 software is an ADVANTAGE

The purpose of this role is to is to assist in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the warehouse.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Maintain the warehouse including general upkeep and cleaning
  • Label all inventory items
  • Ensure that all stock are in the correct bin locations
  • Assist with receiving of stock, checking stock and packing stock away
  • Assist in pulling stock for customers orders
  • Execute regular/weekly cycle counts

The purpose of this role is responsible for the cutting of cable, surfix and wire.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Ensure to cut the correct cable and wire according to the correct size and length required
  • Ensure to attach a label to the cut cable specifying the size, length, and the customer name
  • Record cable cut in cable control book or on the relevant slip
  • Monitor stock levels and inform management of the present stock situation
  • Ensure that the floor is free of hazards and the work area is kept neat and tidy
  • Operate forklift machines to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks
  • Assist in the pre-counting / circle counting for scanning purposes
