CABLE CUTTER – PORT ELIZABETH

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Cable Cutter for their Port Elizabeth branch.  This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is responsible for the cutting of cable, surfix and wire.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Ensure to cut the correct cable and wire according to the correct size and length required
  • Ensure to attach a label to the cut cable specifying the size, length, and the customer name
  • Record cable cut in cable control book or on the relevant slip
  • Monitor stock levels and inform management of the present stock situation
  • Ensure that the floor is free of hazards and the work area is kept neat and tidy
  • Operate forklift machines to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks
  • Assist in the pre-counting / circle counting for scanning purposes
  • Assist the warehouse supervisor with other duties as and when required

The key educational requirements and qualifications for this position would be:

  • Matric / Equivalent is a MUST
  • A valid forklift licence is a MUST
  • Strong knowledge of electrical products would be advantageous
  • Must have at least 2 years cable and wire experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards protective clothing

DRIVER CODE 08 – PORT ELIZABETH

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Driver Code 08 for their Port Elizabeth branch.  This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient delivery and collection of stock to customers.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Complete vehicle inspection sheet and ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy before embarking on a journey
  • Report any defects / accidents of the vehicle to the branch manager immediately
  • Navigate each destination on schedule to determine the most expedient trip
  • Load stock according to the log sheet together with the dispatch clerk and ensure that stock correspond to the delivery note
  • Submit all relevant delivery administration and reports of each delivery for an accurate record of what has been completed
  • Obtain clients’ and customers’ signatures as an acknowledgment of having received the delivered goods
  • Effectively communicate with clients and customers to resolve complaints
  • Ensure that the delivery vehicle is always clean
  • Keep record and advise the operations manager when the vehicle is due for service
  • Report all delivery related problems to Branch Manager
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and security regulations

The key qualifications and experience for this position would be:

  • A valid grade 12 certificate is ESSENTIAL
  • A valid Code 08 drivers’ licence is ESSENTIAL
  • Minimum 3 years driving experience
  • Familiar with GPS technology devises

INTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE – KNYSNA

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Internal Sales Representative for their Knysna branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to play a fundamental role in achieving customer requisition and revenue growth objectives through internal sales. The successful candidate will also be required to assist at the tills and perform cash sales when required.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Sell the company’s products to walk in customers over the counter
  • Manage and control all stock movement, including the issuing of daily stock quantities in conjunction with the Procurement Manager
  • Liaise with dispatch and help to ensure deliveries are made on time and to customer expectation
  • Manage COD invoices and collects outstanding payments
  • Handle / process orders telephonically
  • Create invoices
  • Handle quotes on the CRM system
  • Ensure that all the relevant information is obtained from customers to ensure accuracy of all orders, i.e., order numbers, delivery address, contacts, special arrangements etc.
  • Assist to resolve any queries customers may have

SENIOR CREDITORS CLERK

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Senior Creditors Clerk for their Port Elizabeth branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Accountant.

The purpose of this role is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Ensure invoices are matched against requisitions, purchase orders and goods received notes with reference to quantities, quality, description and price
  • Ensure requisitions, purchase orders and invoices are properly authorized, and in accordance with the appropriate standards, processes, and procedures
  • Liaise with suppliers and ensure that all questionable data is investigated, and discrepancies resolved timeously by following the processes and procedures
  • Responsible for reconciling of the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Ensure audit deliverables are maintained according to the standards required by the auditors
  • Generate financial statements, reports and reconciliations detailing accounts payable status
  • Maintain an updated and accurate vendor master list
  • Ensure that official financial records are accurately maintained and follow a sequential filing protocol

The key educational requirements, experience and qualifications for this position would be:

  • A Financial Management / Bookkeeping Certificate is a MUST
  • Proven knowledge of cost control, financial analysis, accounting principles, practices, standard laws, and regulations is a MUST
  • Understand statutory requirements, e.g. VAT, imports, exports
  • Knowledge of financial system, K8 is an ADVANTAGE
  • Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office
